Library Reopening - Temporary Hours & Services
Moline Public Library is excited to announce reopening with limited services starting Monday, February 1. Please see the list below for answers to frequently asked questions. Those entering the library are expected to wear a face covering that covers nose and mouth, maintain a proper social distance during their entire visit, and keep their visits brief.
Library hours will be 9:00am to 8:00pm, Monday and Tuesday, 9:00am to 5pm, Wednesday through Saturday.
Curbside Pickup hours are noon to 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday. Curbside Pickup will be unavailable on Friday and Saturday. For information on how to request materials via curbside pickup, see our Curbside Pickup page.
Programming for all ages will continue to be virtual at this time. Be sure to visit the MPL Kids blog, the MPL Teens blog, and the Adult Services blog on our web site for regular virtual programming posts. All programs are also listed on our events calendar.
Computers will be available for one 1 hour session per person, per day.
We encourage you to apply for a library card on our web site. In-person registration is available for those without access to our web site.
Meeting Rooms & Study Rooms
Meeting Rooms and Study Rooms will be unavailable for use. Please check back with the library frequently for updates on availability of this service
Wifi access will continue to be available in the Library’s parking lot.
Our Adult and Children’s information desks will be staffed and ready to take your questions. You may also call 309-524-2470 for the adult information desk or 309-524-2480 for the children’s service desk during normal hours. Questions can also be submitted online via our website.
Fine & Fee payment
Fines can be paid by accessing your account in the PrairieCat Catalog or by calling the library at 309-524-2450.
Copiers, Scanner & Public Faxing
Copy machines, public scanners and faxing services will be available during open hours but with very little assistance available.
Passport services are not available at this time.
The lobby book return will be unavailable, but the drive up book return on the east side of the library is open 24/7. Please deposit all returns in the drive up return.
To encourage social distancing, three stations for self-checkout are available and their use is encouraged.
When entering the library, you may notice many of our chairs have been removed. This is a temporary, COVID-19 modification in an effort to maintain social distance and keep library visits brief.
Hotspots may be able to be checked out. All hotspots must be returned at the Moline Public Library book drop media slot only. Read here for more details.
Passes to local attractions are available for checkout. Destinations include Figge Art Museum, Putnam Museum, Quad City Botanical Center, and Niabi Zoo.
Donations of Books & Magazines
Due to limited storage space, please hold your donations of material until our Friends Sale Room can accommodate additional inventory.
Friends Sale Room
The Friends Sale Room hours are Monday and Tuesday, 10am to 4pm, Wednesday through Friday, 10am to 2pm.
Java Lab Grind and Dine Café is now open for dine in, carryout, and curbside service Monday and Tuesday, 9am to 7pm, and Wednesday through Saturday, 9am to 4pm.
