Library Reopening - Temporary Hours & Services
Moline Public Library is excited to announce reopening with limited services starting Monday, July 6. Please see the list below for answers to frequently asked questions. Those entering the library are expected to wear a face covering that covers nose and mouth, maintain a proper social distance during their entire visit, and keep their visits brief.
Starting July 6, library hours will be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Curbside Pickup will continue as a service and will be available between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Curbside Pickup will continue after reopening. Curbside hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. For information on how to request materials via curbside pickup, see our Curbside Pickup page.
Programming for all ages will continue to be virtual at this time. Be sure to visit the MPL Kids blog, the MPL Teens blog, and the Adult Services blog on our web site for regular virtual programming posts. All programs are also listed on our events calendar.
Computers will be available for one session per person, per day during the following time slots:
Monday - Friday
- 9:00 am - 10:00 am
- 10:20 am - 11:20 am
- 11:40 am - 12:40 am
- 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
- 2:20 pm - 3:20 pm
- 3:40 pm - 4:40 pm
Walk-ins will be allowed only if the computers are available and no prior reservation for the computers have been made. Making a reservation for a specific time period is recommended in order to guarantee computer availability. Please call us at (309) 524-2470 or stop by the second floor Information Desk in order to reserve a computer. Reservations expire if an individual does not sign in within the first 10 minutes of a session and the computer will be made available for walk-in users.
We encourage you to apply for a library card on our web site. In-person registration is available for those without access to our web site.
Meeting Rooms & Study Rooms
Meeting Rooms and Study Rooms will be unavailable for use initially. Please check back with the library frequently for updates on availability of this service
Wifi access will continue to be available in the Library’s parking lot.
Our Adult and Children’s information desks will be staffed and ready to take your questions. You may also call 309-524-2470 for the adult information desk or 309-524-2480 for the children’s service desk during normal hours. Questions can also be submitted online via our website.
Fine & Fee payment
Fines can be paid by accessing your account in the PrairieCat Catalog or by calling the library at 309-524-2450.
Copiers, Scanner & Public Faxing
Copy machines, public scanners and faxing services will be available during open hours but with very little assistance available.
Passport services are not available at this time due to Department of State restrictions.
The lobby book return will be unavailable, but the drive up book return on the east side of the library is open 24/7. Please deposit all returns in the drive up return. All items returned will be isolated for a minimum of 96 hours. Late fees will not be assessed during the isolation period.
To encourage social distancing, three stations for self-checkout are available and their use is encouraged.
When entering the library, you may notice many of our chairs have been removed. This is a temporary, COVID-19 modification in an effort to maintain social distance and keep library visits brief.
Because they cannot be returned in the book drop, hotspots are not available for check out at this time.
Passes are not available for check out at this time.
Donations of Books & Magazines
Due to limited storage space, please hold your donations of material until our Friends Resale shop can accommodate additional inventory.
The Friends Resale shop will maintain limited open hours as volunteers are available.
Java Lab café inside the library is working to determine a reopening date.
