Mindfulness and Meditation Class

Learn about and experience mindfulness meditation in a fun and supportive environment. Mindfulness expert and Clinical Social Worker Evan Harris will touch on the origins of meditation around the world, the different types of meditation and their effects, how we may already experience deep meditative states in our daily lives, and our human potential for growth and fulfillment through a regular meditation practice. Practicing Self-Compassion: How We Benefit from Being Kind to Ourselves

Jennifer Welvaert-Koch, LCPC, NCC, a nationally certified counselor who owns Creative Counseling for Healthy Living will discuss how self-compassion can transform the way we think and feel about ourselves, relate to others, and contribute to the world around us. Mindful eating is all about bringing attention and intention to our food choices and eating behaviors. Participants get practice reconnecting with their senses and learn valuable skills to become more aware of the choices they make and how it impacts their long-term health and well-being.
