How to get a card
Moline residents may register for a library card.  You need to show proof of your current address.  Young people under 13 years of age must have a parent or a guardian sign the application.  Moline school students who live in unincorporated areas of Moline and are not eligible for a free library card. Non-resident family cards are available for a fee of $135 per year.

You must have your card with you to check out materials.  You may use your Moline Public Library card at other PALS libraries.

PALS
The Moline Public Library is a member of PALS (Prairie Area Library System).  This is a group of public, college, school, corporate, and hospital libraries that share their resources. The PrairieCat online catalog can be accessed via the following website:  PrairieCat

To renew books by phone, please 1-888-LIB-PALZ.

Length of Checkout
Three weeks for everything EXCEPT:
Two days for entertainment videos and DVDs. ($1.00 rental fee)
One week for holiday books (during the holiday season only)
14 days for high demand bestsellers

 By encouraging extracurricular reading through reading programs
 By providing booklists and bibliographies on popular school assignment topics

Please call to schedule your tour at least two weeks in advance to ensure adequate staffing.

Parent/Teacher Collection
The Children’s Department houses a collection of materials of particular interest to parents and teachers of preschool age children through sixth grade.

Microforms
The library has a newspaper microfilm and magazine microfiche collection that supplements the periodical collection.  Microform copies are available for $.25 per page.

Interlibrary Loan
If the Moline Public Library does not own an item, it may be borrowed from another library.  For local libraries, please allow 7 working days. Items at libraries outside of the Quad City area may be requested for Moline Public Library cardholders only and may take longer to obtain.  If you have a card from a different library, please contact that library to interlibrary loan such items.
